Infrared Optics
Silicon and Germanium

IR optics require a constant balancing of resistivity and optical transmission. Lattice sales engineers can consult with you on what balance works for your application.

Silicon and Germanium are materials of choice as optical elements in night vision and thermal imaging systems. Working with these materials is a specialty, due to their brittleness and the complex interplay of resistivity, transmission, and other optical properties.

Lattice has made a 20-year specialty of working with just these two materials. 'From crystal growth to finished blanks'®, only Lattice Materials has the experience and know-how to meet your needs.

Whether your application requires 12 inch diameter windows, 10 inch curved blanks, or polysilicon windows that can dissipate EMI - while maintaining optical transmission... Lattice has you covered.

We can grow single crystal up to 10.5 inches, and poly crystal up to 13 inches in diameter with whatever resistivity and transmission you need.
Round window blanks, large rectangular windows, complex shaped windows...we can provide any window shape from prototype to high volume production quantities.
We can generate spherical curves up to 10" diameter, and our CNC curve generators can provide high-precision, polish-ready finishes.
Monocrystalline, in <100> and <111> orientation, and polycrystalline windows are polished in our clean room.
